2016 Toyota Highlander Engine Power

The 2016 Toyota Highlander is available with three different engine options: a 185 horsepower 2.7L 4-cylinder DOHC VVT-i (1500-pound towing capacity), a 270 horsepower 3.5L V6 DOHC VVT-i (5000-pound towing capacity) or a 280 net horsepower hybrid 3.5L V6 DOHC VVT-i with EV and ECO Modes (3500-pound towing capacity). Drivers who choose the conventional 2016 Highlander with the V6 engine can expect an estimated fuel economy of 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. For a higher fuel efficiency, the hybrid variation can attain approximately 27 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

In addition to the strong towing capacity and excellent fuel economy, the 2016 Toyota Highlander is available with either Front-wheel drive or All-wheel drive. While Front-wheel drive allows for plenty of power and maximum fuel efficiency, All-wheel drive provides extra power and traction to make wet and snowy roads easier to handle.
