The first-generation 86 sports car’s impact on the automotive industry is well documented. This was thanks to its nimble driving dynamics and impressive fuel economy. The second-generation 86 sports car takes this further. Toyota has integrated a lot of performance-oriented components in the 2022 GR86 to improve its overall driving characteristic. The GR86 can take on straights and corners with ease. Handling is balanced and precise making it a quintessential track car. Some of the many components integrated into the 2022 GR86 include a Torsen® limited-slip differential that helps in precision handling, and GR circuit-tuned coil springs and shock absorbers, to name some of them. The GR86 hits 60 MPH from a standstill in a peppy 6.1 seconds, 0.5 seconds faster than the previous version.
The GR86’s cabin offers a perfect balance between comfort and control. The seating position is straightforward and gives the driver a sense of control. The seats are comfortable, and the passenger space is impressive. The cabin also gets a bunch of GR-themed trim like a GR leather-trimmed manual tilt/telescopic three-spoke steering wheel with contrast stitching, and a GR engine Start/Stop button. The base GR86 variant comes with sport bucket seats with a G-embossed design. Features like two-stage heated front seats with leather-trimmed bolsters and Ultrasuede® inserts are offered in the GR86 Premium as standard.
The infotainment system is user-friendly. The features offered are extensive. Navigating through different options within the interface is also simple. This adds to the overall user experience.
